

Data Consultant
The Data Consultant would be responsible for data manipulation through SQL, analysing, updating, and maintaining data sets, and large data migration projects.
Our clients have large data sets – 1 million+ rows – so ideally, you’ll have experience with data migration projects on this level.
You will need to be comfortable and proficient at writing SQL queries to diagnose and resolve issues as part of common troubleshooting.
This is also a client facing role, so you’ll need to be confident leading conversations with clients at various stages of the projects. You’ll need to get to know the client and be clear on what they require from Ascertus.
The Data Consultant also provides consultancy services to our customers, whilst ensuring this does not impact on the main objectives and responsibilities of their role.
Responsibilities
- Complete large data migrations
- Data manipulation through SQL
- Handling and analysing large datasets with joins to multiple tables.
- Working with Project Manager’s to ensure the project is meeting time deadlines.
Skills Required
- SQL – 4+ years of experience minimum
- Experience working on Data Migration of 100+ user projects minimum.
Desirable Attributes and Capabilities
- Experience of Document, Case/Matter Management and/or Practice Management Systems.
- Exposure to Legal or Professional Services organisations.
- Have a good understanding of Python and/or PowerShell but can be supported on the job if SQL skills are strong enough.
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience.
- Strong time, project, and priority management skills.
- Able to be involved in technical discussions and communicate effectively.
- Work effectively within Ascertus and customer project teams.
- Contribute to customer and partner meetings providing technical guidance and support.
- Good documentation skills.
- Focus on Customer success.
- Open to learning and developing skills.
- Willing to challenge and contribute to process improvement.
Location
Ascertus has modern offices in both central London and Birmingham, and all staff are encouraged to spend time working alongside colleagues in one of these offices. However, we recognise that flexibility is key. As such, if a daily commute isn’t for you, we support an almost fully remote working arrangement.
There is an expectation that you will spend up to three days per month in the office, which includes a monthly Professional Services meeting held in London. You may also be required to complete on-site client visits as and when requested.
Remuneration and Hours
This role is being offered at between £45-55k per annum depending on experience, as well as a monthly bonus based on your billable utilisation.
This is a full-time position, and the working hours will be 9am-5:30pm Monday – Friday. There is sometimes a requirement for some out of hour’s services and support as required for business needs.
